Once again, for the third consecutive year, I had the pleasure of attending to cover the event, which has now become a must-attend annual date on my calendar; this time as part of the press team for the Gay Canary Guide.

Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje (#TFBCA) is indisputably successful. An initiative promoted by the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Ayuntamiento de Adeje, it has become a benchmark for swimwear fashion and one of the national runways with the greatest projection in its sector, carving a space among major international fashion shows while also promoting the island of Tenerife, its designers, and talent.

The #TFBCA editions are typically divided into five categories/events, each dazzling with fashion and style in southern Tenerife:

  • Casting Fresh Face: Provides young islanders the opportunity to start a professional career in fashion and become the face of new brands.

  • Blogger Day: Brings together the most important fashion bloggers of the Canary Islands to share the agenda, key event insights, and exclusive knowledge.

  • Shooting in Live: The day when various photo sessions are carried out with models selected from the “Fresh Face” casting.

  • Fashion Beach Fañabe: Takes place at Playa de Fañabe with a runway set in the sand and ocean, turning the surroundings into a witness to the debut of new “New Talent” brands.

  • Tenerife Fashion Beach: One of the most important days, where Playa del Duque Norte becomes the epicenter of swimwear fashion, with the coast and ocean forming a spectacular backdrop at sunset for national and international designers to showcase trends for the upcoming season.

In this 2019 edition of #TFBCA, the runway at Playa del Duque Norte featured the following designers and collections:

PIN UP STARS

An Italian brand presented a collection of very modern, elegant swimsuits with interesting textures, ranging from traditional bikinis to one-piece models.

ANANAS WEAR - Handcrafted

A highly original proposal featured swimsuits with elaborate and exclusive patterns resembling the volcanic nature of the Canary Islands, harmoniously contrasted with background colors. The looks were complemented with matching accessories, further enhancing the stunning designs.

SECO SECO

A collection based on prints inspired by sand, shells, and spiral waves, resembling hand-painted works that highlighted each piece beautifully and harmoniously.

LAUT APPAREL

A diverse collection with sporty, slim-fit garments, featuring a color palette of white, blue, orange, and gray, alongside flowing dresses and beach-themed designs.

LAVA

A collection of swimsuits with vibrant contrast prints, inspired by the Canary Islands, combining pieces for multiple activities—a fun, sporty/beachwear line.

NOK - Nok Collection

A line with an almost exclusive turquoise, white, black, and red palette, classic, elegant, and feminine, mainly featuring one-piece swimsuits with sheer panels, straight silhouettes, and accentuated shoulders.

ANAMAYA DESIGN - Malamata

A fun, youthful, modern collection with elastic fabrics, metallic and fluorescent colors, complemented by flowing garments, tunics, skirts, and brand accessories.

HIPERTRÓFICO - Pendientera

One of the most innovative collections and a personal favorite, inspired by the 1970s with a futuristic touch, predominately in mauve and black, with glitter fabrics, pink in men’s pieces, “lightning” silhouettes in matching colors, and spectacular designs.

AURELIA GIL

An innovative collection emphasizing flowing, lightweight garments for men and women, dominated by shades of blue and multicolored candy-like prints, with a daring introduction of male sarongs/skirts—a bold but necessary proposal.

NOEMI FELIPE

A line with an exclusively feminine and tropical air, featuring sensual silhouettes and multicolor floral prints against white backgrounds. One standout piece was a glitter gold swimsuit with an interesting cut that beautifully enhanced the female silhouette.

ARENA NEGRA - Hammerhoj Design

A spectacular proposal inspired by the African savannah, using elephant and palm prints in vibrant greens contrasted with white, blue, and orange. A complete collection for him and her with a tropical and tribal vibe.

BEA DE LA ROSA - Pendientera

A very modern line using metallic tones and aqua green, featuring multicolor geometric prints, pink garments with black text, asymmetrical cuts, and fitted silhouettes emphasizing shape.

OLA OLITA - By Loleiro

An exotic collection inspired by Eastern culture, evoking Japan with beautiful prints, creative and unconventional footwear reminiscent of traditional Japanese Geta, paired with socks. Turquoise was the main color, accented with floral and white crane prints.

EDUARDO NAVARRETE - By Loleiro & Nok Collection

A visually striking collection with a simple color palette but powerful, eye-catching prints in the women’s line dominated by green, clearly inspired by African culture and the Maasai tribe. Diverse pieces and accessories complemented the looks, from bags to tunics, and spectacular one-piece swimsuits with bold prints. The introduction of a men’s beach bag was a highlight—a needed accessory in the market.

Many thanks to the Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje team for this year’s wonderful and impeccable production, and to the team photographer for the beautiful images that showcase the collections in detail.

Thanks also to the Gay Canary Guide team for the invitation and coordination of the trip.

For now, my calendar is already fully booked for next year… see you there, Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje 2020!!!
